Iron – 25 Ottawa Ave

Iron was created by award winning Chef Chris Perkey, owner of the successful downtown restaurant Osteria Rossa, and it set to open this holiday season. The food will have a focus on Midwestern food while using local ingredients. Conveniently located across from the Van Andel Arena, visitors will have easy access through the parking ramp and located near popular attractions. Learn more about them on their website.

 

Slows BBQ

Slows Bar Bq Grand Rapids opened Aug 6th, 2015 in the Downtown Market and has already made a name for itself with its delicious slow cooked pork and BBQ dishes. Some of the cuisine includes slow-cooked barbecue favorites like brisket, ribs, pulled pork, several of Slows' signature sandwiches & sides and several dozen Michigan-based artisan and craft beers on tap. If you’re a fan of good, home-style BBQ, this place is for you.

 

The Waldron Public House

As many have heard, the old restaurant and pub, McFadden’s, will be closing its doors and reopening as the Waldron Public House in February of 2016. With a similar atmosphere, Waldron’s will have food and drinks inspired by British Commonwealth and will also have a dance floor/nightclub for entertainment. Gilmore Collection

While this one is kind of a package deal, the Gilmore Collection has several restaurants around the Grand Rapids area, all known for great food and great atmosphere.  Some of the best well known ones are The B.O.B., Judson’s, Rose’s and Bostwick Lake Inn. In addition to having restaurants in the city, they also offer catering for multiple kinds of events.

Stella’s

Looking for the best burger in town? Some will argue that Stella’s has the best burgers ever. This classic video game arcade and lounge has been getting national attention. GQ Magazine has bestowed “Best Burger in America” status on the Grand Rapids bar and is a must-try if you need to satisfy a burger craving. Additionally, Stella’s specializes in craft beers, and an impressive whiskey list – sometimes even listing their soup of the day “whiskey.”

This local restaurant that opened in 2004 already has a soft spot in many Grand Rapidian’s hearts. Along with great food comes a great story of a woman who had guts and determination to follow her dreams of being her own boss and sharing her love of people and cuisine. The deli-style cuisine here is homemade from scratch every day and even has vegan options and has made the list on Thrilllists best restaurants. A must try Easttown gem.

Leo’s

Leo’s specializes in divine seafood with an elegant atmosphere. Known for stellar service, Leo’s is the best place to get genuine Maine Lobster, Atlantic Perch, and their best acclaimed dish: oysters.
