March 2019 3×3 – Counting down to Spring

Raise your hand if you’re ready for spring? While the winter storms make spring feel far away, we know the spring weather will be here soon! We’re excited for more opportunities to get outside, soak in some sunshine, connect with our communities, and to see the flowers begin to bloom. If the winter blues are getting to you, can we suggest heading out of the house and check out The Commons? This retro-themed restaurant has a look reminiscent of the 60’s/70’s and aside from the fun atmosphere, the food is delicious! Once you’ve stopped in for dinner and a drink, be sure to check out these fun events in the Grand Rapids area this month!

"BRIEF RUN – 1K!

This unique race invites participants to wear their finest (and funniest!) underwear over their running clothes in support of Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids! So forget black tie, there is a NEW dress code in town for fundraising events-underwear! Help us bring laughter and awareness of emotional health to the streets of Grand Rapids. Hey, when else can you run (or walk!) around in your underwear and NOT have it end with a ride in the back seat of a fancy car with flashing lights?

Registration on or before February 25: $25 (Includes official race t-shirt, drink ticket, and finisher medal)

Late Registration on or after February 26: $30 (Includes official race t-shirt, drink ticket, and finisher medal – shirt size is not guaranteed)

Please note: All registration fees are non-refundable. All proceeds from this event benefit the cancer & grief support programs offered through Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids. Thanks for your contribution!

CONTESTS

We take our underwear seriously around here, and this year is no exception! Be sure to don your flashiest, most creative attire and you just may be picked as one of this year’s big winners! Prizes will be awarded for best underwear, best couple, and more!"

Meet & greet with local farmers at our FIFTH annual Growers Fare! Learn how to become a member of a local farm and receive shares of the harvest throughout the season.

Head up to the second floor of the Downtown Market to taste some farm-fresh samples and listen to live, hometown folk music while visiting your favorite West Michigan farmers! There will be activities for kids, too!
