Grand Rapids Outlet Mall | Grand Rapids Shopping

There is a new addition to the Grand Rapids retail market. Tanger Outlets announced they are setting up shop in our area. This 350,000 square foot shopping center will be host to some of the top retailers around. The Grand Rapids Outlet Mall will feature retailers such as Nike Factory outlet, Banana Republic, Gap, Cole Haan, Express and a whole lot more to fill up all that square footage. The Grand Rapids outlet mall is expected to open in the fall of 2015. Just in time for that holiday shopping season. Ground breaking took place August 21, 2014 so the project is underway and making headway. According to an article published by Mlive, Tanger decided to fast track the project because the space is already 80% full. Far beyond Tanger’s 50% minimum to begin a project. The announcement of the Grand Rapids outlet’s is a breath of fresh air around here. It would seem with the addition of this outlet mall, Grand Rapids is heading in the right direction as far as retail goes. For years there have been public interest in stores such as Trader Joes, Whole Foods and H&M. Still no Trader Joe’s or Whole foods but the new Grand Rapids outlet mall it a welcomed shopping venue. Shoppers will be able to find the new outlet mall in Byron Center on 84th Street and U.S. 131. Byron Center has been exploding with new commercial space and real estate in general. The Grand Rapids Outlet’s will only add value to those looking to buy in the area. If Byron center wasn’t on your radar for a new home, this new addition might strike some interest. It will be interesting to see what final retailers sign on and the success it will bring to the area.
