AM Yoga: Free Classes

AM Yoga, a favorite local studio of ours, is currently offering free, live-streamed yoga classes every week (oftentimes, nearly every day). Grand Rapids Virtual Triathlon 9.5

Everyday through the month of June

This event is a way for you to swim, bike, and run whenever it works for you during the month of June. You can choose to do any of the event legs indoor or outdoors and staged however works best for you. Complete a sprint, olympic or half triathlon, duathlon, or aqua bike. You can even do the swim-only event at those distances if you choose. Once done, you will have the option to upload your exercise data file to Sportstats new VIRTUAL TIMING website to be ranked against other competitors in your age group. If you choose not to upload a data file, you can simply mark your personal event as “complete” on Sportstats’ website to be listed with the finishers.

Run for Water 5k: MWEA Scholarship Virtual Run/Walk

Take part in the race in any place, at any pace! Pick any day in May and walk/run around your neighborhood, the high school track, a park, a trail, or even at home on a treadmill. Walk solo, with a friend, or get your family to join you (with appropriate social-distancing). All participants get an awesome medal and PDF bib for only $30! Add on a commemorative t-shirt for only $15. #MIRun4Water. 

Virtual Entertainment:
Festival of the Arts: Virtual

June 5th & 6th from 9am-6pm

Bands, solo artists ,and performance groups have until the end of the day May 15 to submit videos that are under three minutes long to be considered for inclusion in the festival. The videos will live-stream on partner WOODTV.com from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, June 5. An “encore” performance is planned for June 6.

Free, three-day community event that celebrates every discipline of the arts; dance, music, literature & media, visual arts, and design. Being a regional arts event, Festival of the Arts, represents eight counties including Kent, Ottawa, Ionia, Allegan, Muskegon, Mountcalm, Barry, and Newago.

Zoom Murder Mystery Party

Every Friday 8pm-10pm for $25/person

Enjoy an interactive murder mystery show from the comfort of your living room! With a live actor hosting you through the event, this is the closet thing to an authentic murder mystery theater experience during quarantine.

Relax at Rosa (Now Relax at Home)

Every Thursday from 12-1:30 pm from April 30 to September 10, 2020.

The sixth season of Relax at Rosa, held in Rosa Parks Circle during normal times, will begin as Relax at Home amidst the pandemic. The free, weekly lunchtime entertainment series – geared for Downtown workers – returns April 30, 2020, and features a diverse lineup of performers.

Virtual Heartside Historic Tours

June 10, 24, July 8, 22 August 5

Our tour guide, Caroline Cook, will be taking you on a 6-week virtual experience through the Historic Heartside Neighborhood. Each week she will share images and stories highlighting the origins, hospitality, culture, and history of Heartside—and you can return as often as you like! Individuals who join us for ALL 6 tours will receive a $25 gift card for a local business in Downtown Grand Rapids.

This online event series is FREE, but you must RSVP to participate!
