Home to the best-testing high schools, Grand Rapids focuses on the success and growth of its students from day one until they are ready for college. Grand Rapids has continually been claimed as the best city to raise a family, one of the factors being the school systems. Many area schools rank in the upper rankings in the state of Michigan, two high schools placing in the 99th percentile, and others following very closely.
High schools have been increasing their ACT scores year by year, and school leaders plan on these scores to continue with the state-administered SAT. City High Middle School, which incorporates intermediate and high school students, has one of the highest ACT averages in the state at 26.4.
