Nature Day at the Downtown Market

On Saturday, January 20th from 10am-1pm, the greenhouse in the Downtown Market Grand Rapids will host its second annual Nature Day in partnership with Blandford Nature Center and Kent District Library. This FREE event is indoors and perfect for the whole family. You’ll be able to experience animals up close, learn interesting facts about their habitats, and enjoy awesome greenhouse activities! All ages are welcome.

Girls Night Out: Proud Mary Movie Premier

As a fundraiser for St. Jude’s Children's Hospital, 616 Grand Productions has once again partnered with Magic 104.9 and Celebration! Cinema North and IMAX to host a special presentation of the new film Proud Mary starring Taraji P. Henson. All proceeds will go towards St. Jude’s and $20 gets you a movie ticket, pop + popcorn, access to the party upstairs AND a donation to St. Jude’s! So ladies, come out on Friday, January 12th at 6pm to Celebration Cinemas North to have an amazing evening! You can’t beat that — fun for a great cause.

Great Skate Winterfest at Rosa Parks Circle Ice Rink, January 20th-21st

Ice skating is BACK at Rosa Parks Circle in Downtown Grand Rapids! On Saturday, January 20th through Sunday January 21st, come out to the rink to celebrate winter in the city to support the Grand Rapids Griffins Youth Foundation. The Great Skate Winterfest will have winter sports demonstrations, sled dogs and horse drawn carriage rides, photo ops with the Calder Cup AND a chance to skate around the clock with your favorite Grand Rapids Griffins player! Sponsor their skates to raise more money for the Griffins Youth Foundation! 34 consecutive hours of skating for a good cause — sounds like a challenge!
