Fall Activities in Grand Rapids

Fall is here and before we present you a list of every Starbucks in the city of Grand Rapids to easily navigate where you will be able to get your “PSL” fix, we decided to make a list of some of the best ways to experience fall in Grand Rapids.

Robinette's Apple Haus and Winery

That goes without saying that a fall favorite among Grand Rapidians is making an annual visit to a pumpkin patch/orchard in order to enjoy apple cider, fresh donuts, and pick out the prettiest and largest pumpkin of the patch. There are so many orchards to visit—so which one is worth your while? Robinettes Haus and Winery always proves to be a favorite in Grand Rapids.

Robinette’s Haus and Winery features the Apple Haus, which opened in 1973 and serves as a bakery, lunch area, src=cider mill, and serves fresh in season fruit. If you are looking to have fresh cider and a donut then the Apple Haus is where you will want to be. In addition to the apple haus Robinettes also branched out into serving hard ciders/wines in its winery. If you are looking for a bit of a kick to your cider, have a taste of one of their 20 different wines/ciders they produce.

There are also plenty of activities to experience while visiting Robinettes, after having a fantastic lunch at the Apple Haus why not get lose in the corn maze or enjoy a nice hayride. A visit to Robinettes can take up a whole day with all the fun activities they provide. If you really want to have a true fall experience in Grand Rapids a visit to Robinettes is a must!

Roselle Park

This location will not disappoint if you are looking to take in the beauty of fall colors.  The park offers 240 acres of trails, natural areas, forests, wetlands, observation deck, and wild life river shore. This park is located at 1010 Grand River Drive in the lovely Forest Hills. Even the drive into this area will display the beauty of Fall in West Michigan. Fall colors can be seen from many different viewpoints in this park and throughout a 2 mile trail.

If you have a canoe or kayak you can launch it into the river taking in the beautiful fall colors of the changing leaves as you glide down the river.  Fun for the family as well, the park offers wetlands, a 9 story silo observation deck, silo climbing wall, natured themed park climbing equipment and picnic tables.  Come back during winter and bundle up to enjoy amazing cross country skiing trails throughout the park.  Roselle is just another great way to enjoy West Michigan outdoors in the Fall.

Reeds Lake Trail

Another great location to enjoy Fall in West Michigan is on the Reeds Lake trail.  The trail runs 4.2 miles and is perfect for walkers, runners and cyclists with paved pathways, sidewalks and a newly completed boardwalk.  The boardwalk replaces a more than 80 year old structure that is now a larger elevated trail that extends 500 ft long.  Whether you are with friends or family, Reeds Lake Trail gives you a perfect excuse to get out and enjoy the recent fall days.  The trail passes by schools, parks and the gaslight village.  Signs are posted at key locations with maps of the trail and mile markers to help guide you.  Like Roselle Park, the trail features wooded areas and wetlands that provide amazing views.

Fall colors are changing later this season so make sure to get out in the next couple of weekends to enjoy the activities at Robinette’s and great fall views at Roselle Park and Reeds Lake Trail.
