The basis weights and properties of a non woven machine nonwoven fabric arelargely determined during production by the combination ofmaterial throughput and conveyor belt speed. In the compositeproduction process, only one combination can be set whichinfluences both the spunbond layers and the meltblown layers. However, the properties required for spunbond and meltblownnonwovens used in face masks, cannot be achieved with the same plant parameters: The throughput required for theproduction of spunbonded layers is significantly higher than thethroughput required for the production of meltblown layers.

The distance from the mold to the collector plays an important role in the quality of meltblown nonwovens. nonwoven machine The greater the distance, the more fiber entanglement, the fluffier and softer the fiber web, the better the fiber cooling, the less tendency to interfere with fiber lay-up, and the less uniform the fiber web for heavy base weight fabrics (absorbent products, etc.). Lower distances result in less fiber entanglement, tighter/stronger web widths, balance of handling air and suction capacity, more uniform web widths and better barrier properties, and are used for light base weight fabrics, especially light weight spun fusion composites.

Primary airflow significantly affects fiber entanglement. Increasing the primary airflow rate reduces fiber entanglement, especially when the DCD is short. Fine fiber bundles are more affected than coarse fiber bundles when the primary airflow is changed. The effect of primary airflow rate on fiber entanglement decreases at higher airflow rates. nonwoven machinery Increasing the primary airflow rate generally increases the overall orientation of the fibers in the machine direction. Increasing the primary airflow rate significantly reduces the pore coverage in the web. This is thought to be because the increased airflow reduces fiber entanglement and decreases fiber diameter.
