May 2019 3×3 Things Are Heating Up!

As the saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers,” and with the flowers and warmer temps also continues the Spring Real Estate market and we’ll be the first to tell you that it is on fire! While our team is busy helping clients buy and sell their homes, we couldn’t let a month go by without checking in with some amazing events happening in West Michigan which we can’t wait to tell you all about!

For this month’s 3×3, we made our way to Holland for a sneak peak of the 90th Anniversary of the Tulip Time Festival. While the tulips weren’t quite ready to share their beauty on filming day, we know they’ll be shining bright come the festival (details below)!

“The Annual Heritage Hill Weekend Tour of Homes Turns 50!

Join the celebration of Tour’s role in saving Heritage Hill from demolition. The 50th Annual Heritage Hill Weekend of Tour of Homes is Saturday, May 18 from 11-5 pm and Sunday, May 19 from 12-6 pm. Step inside 8 restored private houses originally built for prominent Grand Rapids business and political leaders. Several of the featured homes were open on the original Tour in 1969. Three historic public buildings complete Tour’s line-up. As one of the country’s largest urban historic districts, the neighborhood will amaze you.

2019 Tour’s highlights include an outstanding Georgian beauty with 3 sun porches, 10 bedrooms, an impressive mahogany staircase and a working original Aeolian pipe organ in the music room; A shingle style charmer with a working fountain in its solarium and an 1875 Italianate that houses a 2-story wood-lined library designed to replicate one in a castle of Sir Walter Scott.

Heritage Hill was named by This Old House as one of the country’s “Best Old House Neighborhoods”. Its 1,300 homes date from 1843 and represents Michigan's finest collection of 19th and 20th century American architecture ranging from Greek Revival to Prairie.

Please call 616-459-8950 for more information or go to our website at heritagehillweb.org.”

Check back in next month as we share another month of great events in the Grand Rapids area. And meanwhile, if you or someone you know has any real estate needs, please reach out to our team and we’ll be happy to help!
